review 1: Multiple mysteries, multiple bad guys in this Hope Beach book which can be read as a stand alone. The heroine has received a heart transplant and comes to the beach house to recover, not that having a mother who is in the early stages of Alzheimer's helps. She is also a widow with a child to care for and a secret of her own. Dreams of a death struggle haunt her and she learns the heart she received is that of a murder victim. She wants to catch the killer, thus putting herself into danger. Enter an FBI agent she had a relationship with years ago who insists on guarding her. He gets shot at, pierced by an arrow, and conked on the head, you name it in her defense. I did keep wondering how competent he was as an agent as he catches no one. Anyhow, an old flame is rekindled. N... moreo sex as this is an inspirational novel, but not as heavy-handed with religion as some.
review 2: I've read both of the other books in the Hope Beach series and enjoyed them, but this was a huge disappointment to me. Every premise behind this one was so farfetched. The main character was annoying and completely unbelievable. The story jumped around, and every time I turned around there was a new, insignificant and annoying character being introduced. I honestly would never have finished this, but I paid for it, and kept hoping it would be better. I hate to be totally down on a book, but if ever there was one I could not find anything good about, it would be this one. less
