review 1: I really wanted to give this book 4.5 stars. I thought the first half was amazing - some of the best writing (not just Australian writing) that I've read in a long time. I thought it lost some steam in the second half. The plot became predictable (disappointingly so) and the characters lost some of their suspense and appeal. They began to behave predictably and Jasper Jones, who I thought was the most interesting character of them all, disappeared. And the last line was a cop out. But even with all that, Jasper Jones is an excellent book. The scenery is vivid and compelling. The characters are rounded and believable. Best of all, the story is an exploration of morality and emotion. It is a literary novel in the true sense, leaving its reader to wonder and ponder the truth ... moreof the author's suggestions long after the last page is read.
review 2: The book was surprisingly good and it was like a zombie rising from the dead or the grave. It was an intense book and I hope Craig Silvey make a series of this book but now that jasper jones is away from the town the story ends there. But I hope they make the life of Charlie and Elza, then Jasper finally comes back to Corrigan and this would be the last book but when he sees his moms grave he sees charlie looking down a grave which was elza's less
