review 1: In this story Hiccup trusts Snotlout and things go very wrong :(The way he escapes, though, is EPIC! Of course he got some help from the Windwalker (whose loyalty reminds me of the Toothless in the movie. I loved that!), and his friends.Camakazi got the villains to fight each other and it was very heartwarming how Toothless wanted no one but Hiccup as his master :)In the end, Alvin still has the 10 Lost things, and betray may still lay ahead, but Hiccup proved his Heroic nature & is ready to be King. Can't wait for it to happen! Too bad I have to wait til next year :(
review 2: After falling in love with HTTYD2 the movie, I read all eleven books of HTTYD in seven weeks. At first, already knowing a few of the spoilers, I wondered if I would enjoy the books. How
... morecould Toothless be so small and common? Why wouldn't there be a love story with Astrid? How could a dragon jewel exist with the ability to destroy all of the dragons?Yet in the midst of reading ... I came to understand and I fell in love with the books even more than the movie. The same elements of loyalty, friendship, and sacrifice still exist in the books and to an even greater extent. That's what drew me to the movie. That's what continues to draw me to the series. I absolutely love this series. I cannot wait until book 12 comes out. I will wait in line... I may even attend a release party. less
