review 1: I once read that Charles Schultz used to love to draw tiny things in sets of three. This book kind of reminds me of that. I wouldn't call the illustrations good, particularly. But, they are absolutely fascinating. I like that they're not perfect, and I love that there are so many tiny things! This is a great book to share or to read to yourself or to just look at the pictures of the rocket-powered unicorns.
review 2: My 6-year-old enjoyed this book. The illustrations offered opportunities to talk about them but in doing so I often forgot the story.It starts, "There are places in the world where people do not dream . . . of rocket-powered unicorns (turn the page) and candy cane machines (turn the page) of magic watermelon boats (turn the page) and musical baboo... morens."Every page has something you can talk about. For example, the page with rocket-powered unicorns has a variety of unicorns with different accessories (basketball jersey, nylons and high heels, skateboarding, pirate with a hook and eye patch, flippers, etc). less
