review 1: Well, I thought it was one of the best books I have read so far this school year. The key to a better body is healthy food, a good amount of sleep and healthy choice making. But, too many Americans abuse alcohol, candy and drugs, whether its that your just coming to realize that it is time to get your body into shape, or if you have been really fit for many years and you want to go to the next level, this book is all you need to start putting your brain, and body connection to work today. The key to having a healthy body is a good brain connection, for instance, when you feel stressed out, don't grab some booze and go hangover crazy drunk, use your brain to make good choices, including instead of getting a swig of Jack Daniels wiskey, take a walk for a block, or eat a delici... moreous apple instead, and by the way our brain is not the thing that reflects on the body, it is the choice-maker that our body reflects upon.If you make good choices and truncate the A.N.T.s Automatic Negative Thoughts, and make resolution plans, you can be able to feel the rewards that youve accomplished with your brain, and body connection, but if you do not turn off the A.N.Ts you will be in more trobule, and for a fact, the more sleep you get the more energized your body becomes and as a result you are able to preform better on the feild, in the gym, on the track, or in a job interview or a important buisness meeting or call, sothat you wont get disqualified or you wont get fired or you wont snap at your boss or your co-workers.Change Your Brain, Change Your Body is all about choice, and this is the tool that you can use in order to become as successful as you like.
review 2: I have to admit that I'm not "that" kind of girl. You know. The one who wants to find the trick to losing weight looking younger. I work hard for any strength I have and although the scale does sometimes make me mad, I'm not obsessed or at risk of developing an eating disorder. I"m not a yo-yo dieter or someone who has struggled with being severely overweight my whole life. So when I checked out this book, I was a bit red faced. I didn't even think I'd get through the whole book because I expected it to be pretty, "You go, girl. You deserve to be happy, and darn it people like you. Now look in the mirror and blow yourself a kiss. You are fabulous." It turns out the title is meant to lure those who crave that sort of rah rah self-help psychobabble when it's really a pretty thorough exploration of effects of many different things on the brain and the body. It's more neuroscience than anything else. And it was fascinating! While I may not apply everything I read, it certainly did have me talking to my husband about changes that needed to be made. Did it entertain me? Once in a while. Did it talk down to me or tell me to hug myself because I deserve it? Nope. Very readable and full of interesting studies and ideas to consider in daily life. It's not a five in my book, but it's pretty close. less

Some fascinating stuff in here. I think I'll have to reread it to get everything out of it.

Call me a science geek. I love any in-depth study of the brain I can get.
