review 1: Think of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum, only more idiosyncratic, and if she'd wound up in a world similar to Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden. Really funny characters, snappy dialogue, story arcs that make sense, and, of course, squishy romance. If you've been BFFs with characters like Stephanie Plum for some time now and have been looking for a paranormal/fantasy series to jump into, Jones's Charley Davidson is someone you should look up for a coffee date.
review 2: This series is so addicting... I looked ahead and noticed book 7 comes out in October (really, only months after the sixth book??), but also thinking, thank goodness! I'm reserving the next two books at the library, but I might have to break down and buy them for my ereader...not sure how I'll surviv... moree until the seventh book comes out, though. Hate the violence against women (why I stopped reading another series, the one with Mercedes Thompson), but I suppose if demons are after Charley it's only a matter of time until she suffers, right?! less
