review 1: I usually like Baldacci - but he needed an editor speaking truth to power on this one. Too many plot lines(the whole Earl Fontaine story was just sort of dropped in and added nothing - it was like he'd written a short story that he wanted to publish in the middle of a novel.) Important scenes (the rescue, Nantucket) rushed and totally underdeveloped. Characters with super-human martial arts skills going through violent physical gyrations that I can't even picture in my imagination over and over again. Thrillers need a modicum of realism to work - and this one is outside the bounds.
review 2: I liked this one a lot. I really enjoyed #1, The Innocent. Especially because of the relationship between Will (the government assassin) and Julie (the 15-year old runaw
... moreay). I liked #2, but not as much as #1. #2 introduced another assassin, Jessica Reel, but didn't have much of Julie. #3 has all 3 of them, and I went back to really enjoying it. I like this series almost as much as The Camel Club. less

Somewhat predictable ending, but kept my interest. Love his books!
