review 1: The story is good and matches previous tales in the serious well. My only issue is the basic tenet/motivation behind the villain (ABN) - there is no explanation of how his actions are supposed to produce the end result he seeks. That pulls his motivation into question. Any time the subject is brought up, it's only vaguely referenced and in a book that is supposedly exposing ancient secrets, generating more of them seems foolishly inept.
review 2: Fabulous!!!! The Event group is spectacular again. Alice is on the trail of remains and answers that began at an event in Hong Kong more than 50 years ago before she and Garrison Lee were even married. The artifact looked similar to a wolf but like none ever witnessed or recorded in history. Then a mysterious woman ... moreand her grand-daughter send the ship it was displayed on to the bottom of the sea. However the event group has another vault in the complex with similar fossilized remains that have intrigued Alice for years. Now that Garrison has passed away and can't stop her, she begins to gather research to present to Niles Compton to declare an Event. She contacts an agent who is in deep cover in the Vatican against all orders but gets the evidence she needs. However this evidence exposes the agent to other eyes who have an interest as well. This breach of protocol is met with a harsh reaction from the director but he declares an Event. They are all off on the event of their lives in Romania. Lost tribes of Israel, The Jeddah warriors, wolves, Russian Mobster, and the Israeli army are just a few of the interesting challenges that face the group. This is a rip-roaring thriller which will have you on the edge of your seat to the end! less
