review 1: It's easy to tell when illustrators have cats in their lives. Their cat illustrations are so true to a cat's life. Wiesner's stalking cat is spot on in this almost wordless (Does the alien language count?) story told in panels. Mr. Wuffles is picky abut his toys, but when he finds one he likes he doesn't want to let it go, even if it's really a spaceship. The aliens must devise a plan to repair the ship, reboard and leave all while escaping Mr. Wuffles" sharp claws. Boys will enjoy creating their own interpretation of the alien language.

The nearly wordless narra... moretive is seductively imaginative and humorous, with the fabulous illustrations Wiesner creates so well. The pictures of Mr. Wuffles capture perfectly the inscrutable gaze and playful behavior of a housecat. I love the Lascaux-style murals the insects have drawn on the wall of the predatory cat. less
