review 1: This book was exciting, to put it mildly. And it wasn't exciting because a teenage mother gave birth and then disappeared, it was exciting because of the relationships and secrets in eat house. Normally I am not a reader who loves the relationship thing, but I could not see ways out for these people. I was liking this book for totally different reasons than when I started, by mid story. The writing is very good and I found that towards the end, I had trouble putting it down.
review 2: against all odds, I somehow liked this family melodrama involving a pregnant teen who comes to live with the father she had never met, his shocked wife, who never knew about the daughter and a neighbourhood of curious people of varying attitudes. The events steam up when the g... moreirl disappears in the chaos caused by an uncontrolled forest fire which requires immediate evacuation. This event is after the birth of a cute daughter. The clueless father, the girl's mother, his current estranged wifr and interfering neighbours are all caught up in the events that follow. less
