review 1: Maid to Match – Deeanne GistAfter reading The Measure of a Lady, I was going to put down the Deeanne Gist books (I didn't care much for that one). But then I changed my mind and started another. So glad I did! This book was so totally adorable and sweet! The characters were wonderfully written, the plot was original (well, as original as a romance novel gets), and the romance was real (as in, Mack was kissing me instead of Tillie).I didn't mention the humor because it wasn't overly funny and I didn't mention the faith because it was once again nearly nonexistent. The only part I didn't like about this was the lack of faith and the end of the last scene in chapter thirty-two was a little much for me.The setting was sweet and realistic. At least I thing it was. I must confess... more I was paying so much attention to Mack I didn't notice much else. This book might've made me laugh (still a bit too distracted by you-know-who to remember) and it did make me cry. It was well-written and heartfelt.Read it.For those who have read this novel:(*SPOILER ALERT!!!*)Wasn't Mack a dreamboat? He was so rugged, and strong, and handsome, and sweet, and protective, and wild, and romantic, and thrilling, and endearing, and wonderful, and swoon-worthy. I absolutely adored that man! I don't adore his name though. Mackenzie isn't bad, but I don't care for Mack. Maybe because it reminds me of a semi truck.Tillie was super sweet, and kind, and gentle. I think I connected with her well. I really liked the “Let there be light” scenes. I so would've done the same thing. I thought her choosing the lady's maid position over Mack wasn't very bright but then everyone in fiction (and perhaps reality too) seems to make at least one stupid decision when they're in love. I'm so glad she goes by Tillie instead of disgusting Matilda. Ugh! I'd hate to have that name.Sloops. Their name should've been Slop instead. That would've fit perfectly. The Sloops were a total jerks. They made me mad. He was a cruel and wicked coward. And she was just as mean and conniving as him. What I hated the most was that everyone in town believed they were good! The Vanderbilts were so kind and generous! I can hardly believe how generous they were! They had to be extremely wealthy to manage all that and give out so much. I would so have loved to be there!Tillie's mom was a jerk. She was so rude. She acted like she didn't love Tillie anymore because Tillie didn't live out her dream. For crying out loud! It wasn't even Tillie's dream! That love is so selfish!Earl was such a heart-breaker. But he didn't really seem bad though. He seemed really nice, just a bit to eager to drink and kiss women. He was funny too.Allan was sweet and funny. I really enjoyed his energy and sense of fun.I can't believe Irene died (the scene where I cried)! She was so sweet, and fragile, and young. Why did she have to die?Homer was such a sweetheart. He was so adorable and precious. The parlor games were scary. I don't think I'd participate in games like that. They did seem super fun though.Better go.
review 2: Her zaman soyluların aşk hikayesini okurduk. Her şey dozundaydı. Kitapta sevdiğim noktalardan biri de Mack'in tavrı oldu. Paşalar gibi evlenme teklif etti, kız yok deyince hadi eyvallah dedi çekti gitti. İçinden yaşadı her şeyi. Aferin len dedim yani ;) Tavsiye ederim. less

This is one of my favourite books. And that says something because I read so many books.
