A Scumble River Mystery
review 1: Swanson still does an excellent job of mixing small-town life with murder stories. During this story I wondered what it would have been if instead of a murder every few months this was just a series of novels about a school psychologist. The kids have enough problems that she could fill a book with inspirational stories. BUT the small town characters are the reason I keep coming back to this series, and I can't wait to see how it concludes.
review 2: The newest addition to the Scumble River series is a giant snoozefest. Not a lot happens. The murder seems to take a backseat while we read all about how awesome and perfect Skye and Wally are and while we see Skye tell everyone about her wedding. ... moreost, I'm going to be pissed. This isn't a supernatural series. I feel the same way about those stupid Between the Numbers books in the Stephanie Plum series. There's also the boring subplot of the Choking Game nonsense that goes nowhere, but seems to be included just to fill up pages. This is probably my least favorite of this series. Boring. less
