review 1: As a filler for the ridiculously highly anticipated final entry in this series, I was always going to lap up something like this along with the many other fans of the skeleton decetive. And for the most part it gives you what you expect; the same charming writing that strikes an excellent balance between humour and action. Fans of the series will have read some of the stories before, and it is certainly true to say that some of the stories are better than others. Overall this was heading towards three stars for me until a couple of later stories which are genuinely very good and deserved to find their way into print one way or the other. On the strength of those stories alone I pinned an extra star onto this, but whichever way you spin it this collection of stories is a mu... morest read for fans of the series. Bring on the final entry.
review 2: It's here, and it was every bit as amazing as I hoped! As usual, the humour was brilliant. The characters were great, especially ones like Gordon who we knew, but not that well. Weirdly, I love evil Tanith. I also loved the kids who went into the haunted house, because it's so different from other things he's written. My only teeny problem was that the short stories that had already been published were in there, and I'd bought them when they first came out. But for people who didn't have them, they probably appreciated that. less
