review 1: To start, I have to admit that part of my enjoyment of this book is biased owing to the fact that I bought it in Rome during my honeymoon, so reading about different piazzas and basilicas that I had visited in person was a fun experience in itself! That being said, this has become one of my favorite books. Exciting, extremely well written, and it kept me guessing literally until the last few pages. The Whisperer is next on my to-read list!
review 2: Like a summer movie – lots of noise and misdirection based on a cool idea that is just over the top but lots of fun. I liked the back and forth structure of the plot, the steady pace and great characters. There is of course a master mind killer who is out to teach a lesson on human nature. NEWSFLASH: people can
... moredo really shitty things to each other and evil is present in all of us!! I am always amused at how often EVIL is presented in popular culture with all these secret society and strange cult trappings around it. This book has some fun with this as well in one of the crimes presented. The central plot of the attempted rescue of a kidnap victim by following the clues and trail of the kidnapper is solid. It also allows for a pretty far ranging exploration of linked crimes since this is a master criminal giving up minor criminals setup. Overall lots of fun, and I always love the setting of Rome. No matter what there is always a little art history because it just cannot be escaped. less

Great story line. I love the hunter concept. But it is very long. Small writing and almost 500 pages
