review 1: The nice thing about Donna Andrews' series is that she doesn't just rest on her laurels. 15 books in and her voice stays fresh, her plots hum along nicely, and her characters are always themselves. She manages to avoid 'Jessica Fletcher' territory. Due to moving and other life issues, I'm a little behind on my Meg Langslow books -- more to look forward to. I want more Dad Langslow and more Michael, though. Maybe they should have an adventure of their own?
review 2: I love these books. Meg is a great character, and I enjoy her entire, giant, slightly mad family. This entry features a fair, heritage breeds, and llamas. You can't go wrong by adding llamas. The mysteries are very well plotted, and the reveal was a surprise if you aren't someone who reads a lot of c... moreozy mysteries. I like the descriptions of life in a small town (since I'm from one myself), and how everyone knows everyone. A very good, funny read. With extra llama! less
