review 2: "Your magic is very strong. You just don't know it yet," Galen, the warrior with a god trapped inside him, said when he first met the druid, Reaghan. Reaghan's magic proves so strong it breaks through Galen's heart and he falls in love with her.I haven't read th
... moree entire series but I have read one book in the series before, Wicked Highlander. The series story-line is that when the Scots fought and tried to defeat the Romans, the druids summoned the ancient gods from the pits of hell, god so vicious the devil himself imprisoned hem. These god possessed the bodies of the strongest warrior of each clan, becoming one with them. So the warriors are all immortal and each one has a special power. Galen's is mind-reading and mind-control. The evil villain in the series is Deidre and wicked druid who has great powers. Galen and the other warriors thought they killed Deidre but she's still alive she just doesn't have a body, she needs to capture a druid so she can posses their body. I feel obligated to point out that dead spirits possessing bodies does fit the ancient Celtic belief system. But they had no belief in hell or the devil. The premise does not fit the ancient Celts and there really isn't' anything Scottish, Celtic, or Pict about this book. She places them in kilts, she uses Clan names and she throws doona into the dialogue now and then. If you like romance books set in Scotland with men in kilts, you'll enjoy this. If you like books that draw from true Scottish history or true Celtic myth or the Druid belief system you may cringe a bit. However...It's a well written, fast action adventure with strong, appealing characters and sensuous love scenes. I enjoyed reading it. less
