review 1: I loved reading the first book in this series, Wired. It was a well thought out thriller that included the high-tech scifi that I enjoy. Well, for those of you that read that one, you will like this also. The author delivered a new twist that I initially didn't like; however, as the story continued to develop, the thought put into the story line became evident. Can't wait for the next book in the series. Great read and I would highly recommend it.
review 2: Raises some interesting questions about what immortality, utopia and similar concepts would really mean when applied to the current state of human condition and the future of humanity. Also had some good action, a few surprises and some interesting subplots. It was all crammed in only one book though, bu
... moret it was an ok thriller overall. But, to me, the deus ex machina ending completely ruined it. It reminds me of that movie Illusionist, [SPOILERS START] in that, the story is engrossing, the viewers are wondering where it's all going to lead to, it seems to be building up to a really serious and unexpected climax...and then it is suddenly revealed that everything that happened throughout the story was all preplanned by this character who popped out of nowhere in the end....so in a way, the whole story, all the setback, pretty much everything that happened in it was meaningless and the readers were just tricked into reading the story....and it doesn't employ some original and creative deus ex machina either, it simply regurgitates Watchmen's last couple of pages and abruptly ends the book[\SPOILERS END]. It's as if the writer was not given the contract for the third book in the series and he just decided to get it over with. I guess, unlike series like Hunger Games, this one could actually use one more book. That would've allowed more room to flesh out some of the subplots, fill some of the plot holes and probably provide some background to to make the ending more acceptable. less
