review 1: Brubaker, you had me from the first page. Lark and Brubaker are a match in comic book heaven. Brubaker's noir sensibilities combined with Lark's gritty style. Brubaker does a great job joining a believable Cap'n spy story with the gee whiz bang gonzo American comic book action. Especially creative is the origin stories for the other Captain Americas and how these fit into the timeline.I've never enjoyed Brubaker's other noir stuff, but he was made for Captain America - at least in this volume.
review 2: Though friends consider me a "DC" guy, I did read lots of Marvel as a kid in the 70's. I loved Captain America and the Falcon. I thought Falcon was so cool! I remember Bucky as well, and liked him too. I picked this up, AFTER I'd seen the movie. Many things
... more are different here. But the movie got The Winter Soldier's look right. I enjoyed this-lots of flashbacks, and we get inside Cap's head. The supporting cast is good as well.I recommend it! less

Probably 3.5 but whatever. Brubaker gets the benefit of the doubt.
