review 1: Just like classics like Lord Of The Rings, this title is the first milestone in the genre, it was the pioneer, it had set up the rules, the characters. It is the template in the detective fiction- usage of Urban setting, closed-room whodunit scenario, narration by secondary character- clever, enigmatic hero. It seeminly dosen't offer nothing new- but back in times it was- well written and innoative. I had read better crime stories, but this one was first one.
review 2: I just.. why? Why does this exist? Why do people like it? This was ruining the twist ending way WAAAAAAAAYYYY before Shamalyan, and at least you already know his movies will suck, this is EDGAR ALLEN POE, the dude has some serous street cred but that doesn't stop this book sucking enough dick to ... moremake Kim Kardashian gag. To summarize, this book stinks worse than a bunch of hairy apes, or one ape that really stinks and it doesn't make sense why that one ape would be like that. less
