Kissed by an Angel
review 1: A disappointing forth book in the, Kissed by an Angel seriesEvercrossed tells of the story of Ivy who one-year prior lost her boyfriend, Tristan to death. Since then they have both moved on, Tristan continuing to the afterlife and through a great deal of sorrow and hardship Ivy has once again found love with sweet, dependable Will. In, Evercrossed, Ivy is heading to Cape Cod, with faith to move on from the tragedy that struck her last summer, but when Ivy has a car crash and loses her life, her spirit begins to move on to the afterlife, but not before Tristan appears to her and gives her the forbidden kiss of life. When Ivy wakes up, she is in the hospital surrounded by family and friends, but all she can remember was the great love that she had lost last summer. As memor... moreies come rushing back so does something else and this time Ivy is not sure if love will be enough to save her once again. I love Tristan and Ivy, the story of their love cannot be matched, but Evercrossed became more of a disappointment than an excitement to read. Within the fourth book in the series, Evercrossed took Ivy’s life in the first few chapters leaving me in shock, but when Tristan kisses her giving her back her life, though he is punished for his good deed by returning back to Earth as a fugitive of Cape Cod. What?! Sweet Tristan can’t come back as a fugitive of the law and to make matters worse he has no recollection of who he was in the past life. Though the trilogy did deal with the paranormal the fourth book brought in an element of such evil and gave you a sense of “really?” Ivy though senses something about the stranger/fugitive (each not knowing that he is a fugitive) that she meets at the hospital and after a few encounters with him she is convinced that it is Tristan in a different body. Moving closer to the stranger, she begins to hurt her current boyfriend Will and confusing her friends along the way. Not only does this book taint the image of Tristan, but it also taints the pure love that Tristan and Ivy once had in the first trilogy. The books leaves you wonder what will happen to the two characters that you grew to love in Kissed by an Angel. I could have gone without reading the fourth book in the series; the first trilogy was mysteries, entertaining, and intriguing, making the fourth book look obvious, boring, and unpleasant.
