review 1: I got the rec for this series, I think, at DragonCon either last year or the year before. I finally picked it up at the used book store in the version that combines the first two books. Since it's really two separate books, I'm listing them separately. Legacy of Lies - B+ - I kind of enjoyed this one. It was a kind-of spooky ghost story. Some of the characters seemed more like caricatures than real people. The grandmother, especially, seemed entirely unbelievable. The cousin was a little off too. Overall, though, I enjoyed this story.Don't Tell - C+ - I didn't like this one nearly as well. Everyone seemed insane. The part I REALLY couldn't get behind was the boy friend of the girls. He pretended to be the girl's boyfriend because he knew something wasn't right? ... more So he was super rude to the cousin and didn't tell her? And who didn't see that "twist" coming with the aunt? So, meh.
review 2: I truly loved this series. It led my to a few sleepless nights but that's because of Chandler's amazing story-telling. I also loved how it wasn't too supernatural at all. At the beginning of each story, it seemed that way but it ended up because just a cruel human intent. This showed the sinister side of humans and our sinister urges just for greed.Stories kept me up all night just to find out what happens. Loved reading them. less
