review 1: I loved this book. It made me think a lot and in the end this mystery would twist it another way. It made me want to continue to guess who the killer was and how it happened. I wouldn't go to bed till I finished one of the books every day. I couldn't believe how it would end sometimes, shocking me or making me scream in frustration at the out come. Some of the stories made me cry because they were so sad! The thing I liked about these books is the way it took place in the same town making me see the picture clearer than just one book. Elizabeth Chandler is a great short story mystery author that I have read so far and I would like to thank her for these fun and mysterious stories that made me so happy to read. Anyone wanting to read these I push you to if you like fun myst... moreeries with a little love in them.
review 2: I've read Elizabeth Chandler's other books, Dark Secrets 1, and Kissed By An Angel, and I loved those two books, this book I didn't really like all that much. The first part of the book 'No Time to Die' was about a girl going to a Drama Camp her sister went to the summer before, and was murdered at, and she wants to find out what really happened to her sister, and feels a connection with her sister there, more than she does anywhere else. What I really liked about this part of the book was that there was a few plot twists, and some parts really kept your attention. What I really didn't like was the love story in this. She has a few love interests, but one happened so quickly and it just didn't seem like that would happen in reality. In the second part of the book, 'The Deep End of Fear', a girl goes back to the town she use to live in when she was younger to return something of her late fathers to one of his previous employers, who was the father of her old best friend, who died when she was younger and lived there. When she returns the item, she gets hired on as a nanny/tutor for a young boy who lives in this house, and has visions about her old best friend. She starts to try to figure out what actually happened to her best friend, and finds out she was murdered, and then a lot of terrible stuff starts to happen, and time seems to be running out for her. What I liked about this part of the book was that it was also really attention keeping, and much more suspenseful than the first part of the book. At the beginning it was really hard to remember names, and remember who was who, but after about the first one hundred pages, you really figure out who everyone is. The love story in this part was much more believable and happens over time, instead of suddenly overnight. I give this book two stars because even though it was really interesting, I just had to force myself to keep reading so I could finish it. A lot of books by Chandler are predictable, and these were as well. less
