review 1: This was a cute read. A page-turner. I loved both Macallan and Levi (cool names - and naming your child after whiskey is original :D made me smile since my plan is to have a boy and name him Gansey so that he can one day tell his friend *rolls eyes* my mom loves this book...) and rooted for the book to be more like "Better off Lovers" -and well... I can´t even consider this a spoiler, when it´s pretty obvious where this was headed. Which brings me to the one problem I had with this book. It tries to present itself as different in a way that they try to convince you a boy and a girl CAN indeed just be friends. But it´s ridiculous, because you can see the signs from the very beginning and they only get more frequent as the book progresses. The only reason they are and sta... morey friends for so long is that they´re both in denial :D That´s the way I see it. So that was a bit disappointing. While at the same time, I probably would´ve been extremely sad, had I not gotten my happy ending. BUt I guess I would be able to take a step back and appreciate the difference. Was not given a chance, though. So if this book is supposed to be the answer to "can boys and girls really be just friends?", it did not help me with respecting my fiancé´s girl-just-friends from now on:D
review 2: I absolutely LOVED this book. From the moment i picked it up i couldn't put it down. It was a quick and easy read, but i found it very engaging. I loved how the author wrote it from the two different perspectives because it showed what both of the main characters were feeling. The author wrote it in a way that made you love the characters and no matter what always had you routing for the two of them. Again, i loved this book and it is one of my favorites! less
