review 1: I picked up this novel since I wanted another Georgian historical romance series to read after reading Eloisa James' books. I LOVE Eloisa James' books, they're delightful! But what I loved about her books, the extravagant clothes, the coiffures, the details of the era, was lacking in this series. I know, different writer different style, but still what I want in a historical romance is empathise on the 'historical'. Blame my obsession with Marie Antoinette. That aside it was okay romance novel but just not my cup of tea.
review 2: Well, this was a surprise. I actually really liked it. The story was really interesting and I couldn't stop reading at one point.The Ghost of St. Giles may be a little too flamboyant, but that didn't diminish my interest. So I'm quite... more excited to read the next book.Might I add that I despise Mickey. Ugh. I don't know why or how Silence ends up with him, but I'll be pissed off if he doesn't grovel at her feet. less
