review 1: I absolutely recommend reading this trilogy. Crank and Glass take the reader on the journey of a classic "good girl gone bad" scenario. The first two books continuously left me hoping that Kristina would turn her life around. It gets to the point where you realize that it won't happen anytime soon. Her selfishness grows in the first two books, which left me with a strong hatred for the book's main character. The best book, in my opinion, is Fallout. Fallout is a realistic portrayal of the horrors of addiction, and how it can leave loved ones' lives in ruins. For a while, I thought that all of Kristina's children were annoying in some way. As I read on, annoyance turned to sympathy. It dawned on me that every single one of Kristina's children were the way that they... more were because of her decisions. Abandonment issues left them searching for love and affection in the wrong ways. Abondment left some in living situations that hurt them physically, mentally, and emotionally. This trilogy's conclusion left me sad, but satisfied. Ellen Hopkins excelled at realistically showing the danger of addiction and what it can cause for not only the addict, but everyone in the addict's path. 5 stars!!!!!
review 2: This series is probably my favorite series I've ever read!It was such a fast read, I actually was bummed out when I finally reached the last book "Fallout". It was so difficult to put down (especially while I was reading it at school) and made me think a lot more about why people do drugs or just make the choices they do. I'll more than likely read this series again! EVERY teenager & young adult should read this series. less
