review 1: This book was written by a 22 year old who majored in philosophy. It shows. I had a hard time deciding what I thought of it. It was funny at times and kind of annoying at others. It was interesting most of the time. The main character was prone to rambling monologues about the meaning of reality which I wasn't crazy about. Some of the philosophers referenced were unfamiliar to me, but that was okay. In the end I liked it? It was quirky and though at points it felt like the author was trying too hard, I did smile at a lot of it. It had a happy ending which I do appreciate.
review 2: Teenager Jack is about to commit suicide when he receives a call from his ex-girlfriend who has just given birth to their son. Stunned, Jack sets off to the hospital, kidnaps the
... more baby and sets off with his best friend to see his ailing grandmother. Darkly humorous and philosophical, this is one hell of a road trip. Ostrovski has a knack for creating a sense of very real commodity between his characters, whether it be through little moments or larger conversations about how and why we live the lives we do. Compulsively readable, smart and fast-paced, this is a standout debut novel from a new voice in YA fiction. less

En realidad, diría que se lleva un 3'5 porque me ha gustado mucho aunque no creo que llegue al 4.
