review 1: No creo que tarde en ausentarme de aqu��. Me ir�� con mi conciencia, que siempre fue para m�� una iron��a en crecimiento que, a medida que se hac��a fuerte y grande, tend��a al mismo tiempo, parad��jicamente, a desaparecer. Fue algo que fui descubriendo a medida que viv��a y se iba a agrandando esa conciencia, que nada ser��a sin la iron��a. Me ir�� de aqu�� para disolverme, disociarme, desintegrarme, dejar hecho trizas todo conato de personalidad o de conciencia, cualquier nostalgia de Par��s. Despu��s de todo, ironizar es ausentarse.
review 2: Did not love this as much as Dubliners, but I enjoy just about any books about Paris and this is an offbeat, amusing, autobiographical piece about a struggling wri... moreter in the 70s. EVM specializes in writing about writers, and this is a realistic perspective about the gritty and unglamorous world of trying to hack it in the capital of the literary world. It's also quite funny in a gallows sort of way. If you enjoy this, make sure to try Dubliners. less
