review 1: I loved every letter of this book and finally came to understand parts of myself I thought I never would. I had to force myself to put it down to make it last. If only there were a sequel or another novel out there that would satisfy me as much as this one did. I highly doubt this, because no where will I ever encounter anyone quite like the bohemian lot in this book, namely Biba, and of course, Karen, Rex, and the others. This cast of characters was definitely more interesting than anyone I've ever met in real life. It will definitely be a re-read.
review 2: Wow! This book was so much better than I expected it to be! It starts out with Karen and her young daughter, Alice, bringing home her husband from prison after serving 10 years of a murder sentence. Karen
... moretells the story of the summer of '97 leading up to the event that sent him to prison, so the book goes back and forth between present events and the past as it played out. I kept turning pages because you only know 2 people are dead and I wanted the answers to who, how and why. It is gripping and there are some twists at the end I didn't see coming that left me reeling! Well done! I highly recommend! less

Good story. Interesting characters. But dark and a little hard to get through at times.
