review 1: An 11 year old boy is found dead on the beach and it has major ramifications for half the town. I loved the TV miniseries, and this is just as gripping and riveting. And, it must be said, explained some of the emotions and actions from the show that I didn't quite get. I sympathize a bit more with Karen, but I still dislike and disagree with her. I understand Paul's actions a bit more - more self-serving than I had thought. It was written so clearly, I felt like I was watching it all over again - this did more than novelize the script, it retold it as a complete story. I can't WAIT for the second series. (It makes me more nervous for Gracepoint, though - I don't see how the US is going to make this even half as good. I can't imagine another Ellie. And I can't imagine who t... morehey will decide did it. Pretty much anyone else is a gimmee.)
review 2: Eine typische Whodunit-Story, welcher man die nachträgliche Niederschirft nach Ausstrahlung der TV-Serie leider anmerkt. Viele Charaktere werden nur aufs nötigste vorgestellt und einzeln von Kapitel zu Kapitel als Verdächtige erklärt bzw. entlastet bis zur finalen Auflösung, welche dann auch irgendwie wieder vorhersehbar ist. Mag als TV-Serie funktionieren, als Buch hier jedoch nicht sonderlich ausgereift und überraschend. less
