review 1: This book has short stories from the Jane Yellowrock series universe and, of course, I liked them all. I won’t review each story because I don’t think there is a point doing it. All of them, are very well-written, as is the series so far and give us details from the past of some of the main characters.It was good to see Jane as a young woman determined to find herself and to protect the weaker ones. How her friendship with Molly began and what is the story behind Rick’s tattoos. But most of all, I liked the short story about the events after “Mercy Blade”.My great opinion about Jane is still the same and I have to admit that, maybe, I liked a little more Rick. OK, still he’s not my favorite but he had his share of bad luck here. Very good and quick read that I ... moreenjoyed very much!
review 2: All of these stories fit into the Jane Yellowrock urban fantasy series. None of them are stand-alone short stories. The Early Years was about Jane leaving the orphanage (tons of backstory there), going on a "spirit quest", and discovering that some of her dreams were actually memories. She shifts for beast for the first time since she emerged from the woods.Cat Tats is the story of how Rick was nearly enslaved by a crazy female vampire and the witch she was blackmailing while working undercover to infiltrate the vampire power structure. The 2 cat tattoos were intended to be a magic spell.Kits is the story of the beginning of Jane's friendship with Molly. It's the story of when Jane help's save baby Angie's life.Blood, Fangs, and Going Furry is the story of Rick's first full moon after he was bitten by a were-leopard. Jane helps him. less
