review 1: Jane Eyre is my favourite work of fiction, so the inclusion of this work in this beautifully illustrated graphic novel is very special to me. Plus, it's set in Montréal, which is also special. Frankly, if a graphic novel were to be customised for me, this would tick a lot of boxes. But I didn't get the point of the fox. Why was it important enough to make the title? It was a lovely part of the story but didn't exactly herald a turning point in the novel. I'm hoping something there was lost in translation. I would love to do a book club just on graphic novels. I think this would be the one I would start with. review 2: While I understand that this was a children's book I know that it could have been a bit longer. The story felt incomplete in that... more while Jane finally made a best friend her relationship and openness with her mother did not improve. I did enjoy the tie-in of Jane Eyre however, and that when her mood improved the illustrations went from grey monotone to colour. I absolutely LOVED the artwork, very inspiring. less
