review 1: I checked this out since Kent and I get a little anxious when we think about possibly starting his own business. I'm glad I did. It reads somewhat like a textbook would sometimes. Lists and lists of aspects, attributes, goals, etc. I couldn't possibly memorize it. In summary, no success is considered a "win" without good principle. And a good company is patterned after Costco, a company that isn't driven by stock market values but by how great of a value they can give people. I liked reading certain parts, like a summary of Abraham Lincoln's failures. HE WAS COOL. I'm one for brevity and unless you like reading about the same ideas over and over just worded a little bit differently each time, you might tucker out like I did. I did finish it though, just for the sake of fin... moreishing.
review 2: If money and power is your definition of "success," this book may motivate and help you a lot. It is not my definition and so I found it severely lacking. "No Success can compensate for failure in the home," said a famous LDS prophet and I think the breakdown of our society proves that true. Everyone has a diploma, but no one has a father. Everyone has a college degree, but no one has standards. Forget this book and read CS Lewis, or the scripture of your choice. You will get closer to "success" by following those principles than these. less
