review 1: This is my favourite book of the Atlantis series I absolutely loved Delilah and Layel the back and forth snarky banter between them the chemistry they had was amazing I loved all the challenges and the gods playing a game with them was cruel but they were like children it was funny I loved that they got there HEA and I would love to read more about Delilah and Layel having babies ect I'm def keen to read about Zane and Nola as well 5 wonderful stars!!!!
review 2: Survivor: Vampire style. That’s what I would name this one. Five gods decide they want to have a contest on who can have access to ‘play’ in Atlantis. So they kidnap two warriors from each race: vampire amazon, dragon, demon, nymph, etc., nine races total. They drop them onto a desert isle, div
... moreide them into two teams, separating the two kinds from each other. Then force them to compete in a series of challenges. Losing team has to vote off the weakest link. Only difference is the voted off one is killed. Cool idea, but I wish it’d been played up more. It’s supposed to be the story of the vampire Layel and the Amazon Delilah. But there’s several potential romances going on, both on the island and back in Atlantis. In fact it feels like there are too many plots. Like the author had ideas for further books, but since she can’t continue the series, she dumped it all into this book to tie off lose ends. (Probably why there’s a short story after this, to tie off a loose end that didn’t fit.) Of course the five gods cheat. All the minor characters get bumped off first and since it wasn’t going fast enough for the gods, (the author running out of pages), they eliminate, in various ways, all but four. To me the end was very erupt and too easy after all the buildup. I have no idea why the nymph army shows up just to be zapped home. And there was way too much “I want you, but it’s be a conflict of interest, but I can’t help myself, but I have too, etc.’ Fave scenes: The first challenge and the end of the second. And the cave with Alyss and Shivawn. less
