review 1: ma quanto è simpatico l'avvocato Guerrieri,come un dito....E' il tipico sbruffone affetto dalla sindrome di "io sono meglio di te,qualsiasi cosa tu sia" .i suoi film preferiti? o sono muti o in bianco e nero.il suo cantante o gruppo preferito?è inutile che cerchi,non lo trovi su wikipedia...anzi neppure wikiLeaks lo ha mai sentito nominare.il libro che ha cambiato la sua vita? è di uno scrittore della Patagonia...che ne ha fatto solo due copie.il buon Guido cucina e mangia solo se c'è della buona musica di sottofondo...mica come noi poveri umani banali che guardiamo Forumall'ora di pranzo.e come se non bastasse è anche maledettamente bravo.credo di aver conosciuto la sua versione femminile al liceo....no,non mi sono sbagliata con le stelline,lo stile di Carofiglio è ... moreunico:semplice ma accattivante...lo consiglio anche ai non amanti del genere.
review 2: The second book of the Guerrieri-series. This time the lawyer defends a woman who was abused by her partner. The trouble about this case is that the father of the accused person is some kind of VIP in the local jurisdiction. So again, the author shows his heart for underdogs and the weak. Also included in the plot is the story of child abuse, which makes it sometimes hard and depressing to read. Speaking of depressions: the protagonist seems to have overcome his mental instability - nevertheless he realizes that there are nearly no friends in his life. I am curious where his way will lead him in the next two novels.As in the first book of the series, the writing of Carofiglio is really skilled. There's a scene from the lawyer's childhood, where he describes some test of courage at the top of a building. If you suffer from vertigo, this compact and vibrant part will definitely catch you. Overall, the second novel focuses more on the protagonist and his souroundings than the case itself, so compared to the first part, the sequel is more vivid. I definitely liked the fast read. Let's see what the future will bring for Guido Guerrieri. less
