review 1: The three stars reflect story pacing issues rather than writing quality, story structure or characterizations. Because Maggie and Ben's relationship is initially adversarial, the deep emotional intimacy between them is delayed for nearly 100 pages. The other element that diluted my enjoyment was Maggie's dithering in the face of dire consequences that mandated immediate action, especially after what she witnesses in the park. G.B. continues to expand the cast of family, friends, and allies to integrate compelling characters from all her series with enviable deft.
review 2: This was the second book from The Duke's Daughters series and the fifth from the Windham series. I have read the four previous books and I like the daughters books much more. This is the stor

Easy read. Inevitable ending, but there is a slight twist to this ending. Truely, an enjoyable read.
