review 1: Again one of the best volumes, The identity of the female type titan revealed, we get to see the finale clash :) and The Major, Major twist about the Walls :O :O The Anime, first season, ends in the middle of this volume and so from now on it's all new territory for me :)It's going to be another year till the next season :(Armen transformation through these chapters is remarkable, it is really a Cruel World...Great Volume :) can't wait to see what happens next!!! :)
review 2: There's a lot to get excited about in this volume. These chapters mark the end of an era, and they are also the last chapters to be covered in the anime. I get so pumped over this and not even for the truly epic reasons (though those are great, too). It's the little details that really
... more thrill me.SPOILERSOne, can we just please appreciate Armin?! Given, he is my favorite character, so I'm a tiny bit biased, but he just really shines. He barely escaped death during the expedition, and his best friend is in terrible danger, but he still pulls himself together and deduces what even the commanding officers could not. Not only that, but he goes to Erwin with his information, and they base an entire mission off his ideas. That cute little shota is turning into quite the BAMF.Two, I love the interactions between Armin and Annie. True, Armin is being manipulative, but Annie actually goes along with it. She's clearly suspicious, but she still wants to be a good person to Armin. I don't ship Armin/Annie, but I am curious about how Annie feels toward him. She allowed him to live twice when she could have easily killed him. I'm ready for her to come back in the series, so I can know!Three, Eren shows a new side in this volume. For once, he's actually hesitant to fight a titan. He clearly doesn't want to believe that Annie is his enemy even after undeniable proof. Mikasa is clearly unhappy with this, but after some pointed motivation, Eren realizes he doesn't really have a choice and transforms.Four, I would like to point out that Armin is once again the one to pull Eren out of his titan body. I don't ship these two, but I do love their friendship. Eren has defended Armin all these years, and now Armin is there for Eren even when it endangers his life.Five, okay, I'm shameless. I absolutely love the last chapter when Jean ruffles Armin's hair. That whole panel is so cute: Eren asleep in bed, Mikasa sitting at his side, Armin curled up at the end of the bed, and Jean leaning against the wall. It was such a cute domestic scene even if there was a morbid undertone. less
