review 1: One thing I would point out with this book is the violence statistics are a bit misleading. Rosin only uses reported numbers, and I think it would be more beneficial to include a caveat acknowledging the fact that many of these crimes are not reported. I know that creates issues of its own, since getting those numbers is tricky, but the number of unreported assaults (or even assaults that are reported and dismissed by the police) is an important enough statistic to include in a book like this.

... moretionally, it wasn't until after the first 100 pages that I was entirely clear on her thesis. Once that was cleared up, it was much more informative, and I actually liked the zoom-ins on some of the people. The title was misleading, and I believe intentionally so. I would recommend the book, but I wasn't really wowed by it. less

Too many conclusions that did not seem to support one main idea. However, interesting thoughts.
