review 1: Harriet Evans is such an incredible story teller and this story did not disappoint. Set in the present day and back in the 1960's, it tells the tale of a British-Indian family and the mystery that surrounds some of the family members after the young sister dies suddenly one summer. Excellent cast of characters and a truly great, involving story. Highly recommend this and all of Harriet Evans books, all of which I have read over the years.
review 2: I love Harriet Evans. I've read 5 of her books and I think there is another one set in the New York fashion scene, that I'm waiting to order. I love her references to her heroines reading Georgette Heyer, my first decent forays into romantic fiction ( lets not mention Mills And Boon on a reading site. Ahem.) Harriet
... more's stories are realistic. The first of her books I read was 'A Hopeless Romantic' - quite apt for me. I just recently finished Love Always. I won't go into specifics, if you are a "Chic Lit " reader, try Harriet Evans. less
