review 1: Not a keeper. This was predictable and repetitive. There was very little suspense until the very end. There was no chemistry between Rocky and Devin until they had sex...which was completely out of the blue, and no chemistry between them afterward. The author may have known the basics of the Salem witch trials, but you could tell she has not spent a significant amount of time in New England. Her "local" characters did not come off as authentic. I had to force myself to finish reading this and I'm regretting purchasing the next book in the series. Let's hope the next one is more entertaining.
review 2: This was the 1st book I have read by Heather Graham and I did not know it was #13 in a series and did not figure it out until I looked for another book by ... moreher. What I loved most about this book is the background information about Salem and the Witches. While reading the book I thought I knew where the story was headed, but just when I thought I had figured it out it went another direction. It is about a teenage girl who was murdered during the main characters senior year and him and a group of his friends found the body and the murderer was never caught. The event altered his life and he went away and worked his way to become a detective and years later brought him back to his hometown to investigate another murder that had similarities. His investigation leads him in the direction of witches, Wicca and ghosts and having to interrogate his former high school friends about the murders that keep happening. Great book and I look forward to reading more from Heather Graham less
