review 1: This was a great novella.Taking place between Magic Strikes and Magic Bleeds, Magic Mourns focuses on Andrea the Knight of the Order who's hiding the fact that she is a shapeshifter (and more so that she's beastkin) and Raphael, the Scion (and playboy) of the Boudas who has been trying to court her. Andrea is taking over for Kate since she's still healing from her stomach wound when she gets a call for a shapeshifter in distress. She goes to answer it and finds a three headed dog with combustible spit and guess who? Raphael. The fun continues on from there.It was pretty interesting reading this in Andrea's voice. Got quite a bit of info on just how horrible her life was with her old pack. It was also pretty cute to see Raphael trying so hard with Andrea even to the point o... moref frustration. There's also a bit of interesting info we get at the end of the novella from the Greek Angel of Death. But you should read that to find out. It's not necessary for this novella to be read with the series but if you're interested in some background info and seeing about Andrea and Raphael get together then you definitely need to read this.
review 2: A novella, part of a 4-pack called Must Love Hellhounds. I don't normally read them, but I adore this world that Andrews has built and a chance to learn more about Andrea, seemed like it would be worth it. Covering for Kate, she is called out on a shifter in trouble, low in behold its Raphael, whom I adore and who adores her. lolCerebus, Hades, Angel of Death oooooh what fun lmaodamn andreas story to Raphael about her childhood was painful, but their banter is beyond enjoyable less
