review 1: Uh. I liked the first one in this series a lot. But I thought that this was like a typical series where it followed the same characters. So I was totally unprepared. There was a lot of gore in this book that I could have totally done without. The whole family dynamic irritated the hell out of me. I didn't care for how Cerise was totally kick ass on her way back home, but once she got there, she turned kinda girly and boring in regards to William. So, yeah. Not sure if I'll attempt the next one.
review 2: The start of this one threw me a bit as although it is book 2 in the series, it focuses on different characters in a different part of the world. After the first third I found myself getting into the story and all these weird and wacky monsters the Ilon... morea Andrews duo has come up with.These books inevitebly are compared to the Kate Daniels series, and although I agree this isn't as strong as KD, it is still a very good series in it's own right so far. less
