review 1: I tried really hard, but after 300 pages, was not able to finish this book. The concept seemed very interesting and some parts of the book were very attention grabbing, but it just left you hanging for too long. In a book that is 560 pages, you have to read over half of it to even begin to grasp what is happening. Don't let me discourage anyone who is a die hard horror/sci-fi/mind bending fan. It was an interesting book, I just didn't have the fortitude to go the distance.
review 2: 2.5 stars. It would have been only 2 but I had to give it credit for being original. This book had so much potential, and it just fell short of almost all of it. I was confused from start to finish, disappointed with the ending, and found myself dreading the day I have to read the n... moreext book. I still can't wrap my head around everything that happened, and the author simply did quite an awful job of explaining. Perhaps if someone else other than a 7 year old girl had explained it, it would be better. The style of writing didn't exactly math up with the story. It felt too much like I was reading a book, and not living it. Almost like she tried too hard to make it "scary" so all in all, while I wouldn't recommend White Space to anyone, the book now has a new happy home on my shelf. less
