review 1: Great fan of everything Iris Johansen writes. This was an excellent story. Teresa Casali has the ability to read people's memories and has been used by her mob boss father to further his business interests. Her father has been murdered and now she's on the run from his successor Rico Camano who has heard about her unusual "gift". On the run and wounded she is rescued by the mysterious Andre Mandak who gives her a new identity as Allie Girard and offers to teach her to control her ability. But for what purpose? You'll have to read the book to find out.
review 2: I liked Teresa and her personality and strong desire to preserver. She was a force to reckon with and was a great match against Mandak. The story was very slow going and didn't start having action
... more until the last third of the book. I was hoping for more fighting, cat and mouse, sexual tension and suspense. Iris Johansen always gives us one heck of a story and I felt that she missed the high expectations that she has set and that we have all come to expect from her books. less
