review 1: I love the Eve Duncan series. I am also a bit OCD, so I have to read them in order. With that said, I found this book terribly difficult to finish - I found myself reading faster and faster just to get through it. I was in the mood for a good murder mystery, not a book about an arrogant, cocky, crass woman who has to be in charge no matter what. I used to like Jane - I don't know what happened to her. I did not care for the Jane in this book at all. I also love paranormal books about vampires, witches, ghosts, etc. and read a lot of them. Iris - please do not try crossing over into the paranormal genre - stick to what you are good at. You are my first choice for a good murder mystery, but if the paranormal keeps creeping in I might have to find a new favorite author. In th... moreis case, the paranormal aspect was distracting. As I said, I am OCD and will be reading "Silencing Eve" next (I know that is not the next book in the series, but I read one out of order by mistake :_)) - I sure hope it is more about Eve than Jane, which is what I was looking for in "Eight Days to Live."
review 2: Fast-paced, plenty of action, well-written. I started it at 6 on a Sunday morning and was 3/4 of the way through by that evening. An artist paints a portrait of a man from dreams that she has, titles it Guilt and has it in a show with her other works. A secret religious organization centered around the belief that Judas Iscariot acted as God's agent in Christ's crucifixion is alerted to the painting which matches a portrait of Judas that hangs in their secret temple. She is sent a message that she has only 8 days to live with no explanation of why she is to be killed or who these people are who wish her death. A little globe-hopping, archaeology, and clue chasing gets her the answers she needs to solve this mystery and save her life. less

One of my favorite series. I love to read these more than once, which is quite rare for me.
