review 1: This was a short story about Kendra Michaels. She was blind when she was younger, but with stem surgery, she regained her sight. She helps the police once in a while with hard cases, but her full time job is a musical therapy teacher. In this story, Janet Sanders is distraught because her fiance has disappeared. She saw blood in the kitchen of his apartment. She reported the disturbance to the police, but they acted as though he didn't exist. With Janet's frantic pestering getting her no where, she turned to Kendra Michaels for help. A little too short for me. I like Kendra as a character and wanted to read more.
review 2: This particular short story may have been somewhat predictable, but was still good and I really liked Kendra. It has an a... morelmost Mentalist-type vibe but, w/ added interest due to the whole formerly-blind angle used to explain, not only Kendra's honed auditory, olfactory, and tactile senses; but also, her desire/accute ability to take in more visual cues than those of us who have had the gift of sight from birth/ a very young age are able. less
