review 1: Isabel Allende is always very dear to me. I feel like she's one of those people with whom you can have endless cups of coffee over a great view and never run out of topics to discuss, questions to ask, things to say. She says that actually she makes up all her stories and the love scenes are not based on her life; when they are autobiographic, she says so. STill, if you read all her books, and I think I have read almost all of them, as time goes by her voice starts to sound familiar and it is difficult to think she is not just telling her own story through all those voices.Amor is actually a selection of love excerpts from her books, based on jealousy, mature love, first love and so on. You revisit some of the characters and want to reread everything. Life is too short for... more all the books I want to read plus the ones I would love to reread, that is all I want to say...
review 2: Debo comenzar diciendo (a mi pesar) que es el libro que menos me ha gustado de I.A. Espera más que una recopilación de antiguas historias que ya había leído en sus otros libros (lo encontré hasta con un fin más comercial que otra cosa).Las partes más interesantes resultaron ser las introducciones a cada capítulo, donde Isabel narra un poco de sus historias personales, sin embargo, al ser tan cortas se perdían dentro del libro y dejaban gusto a poco.Me parece que si bien nunca es desagradable leer a esta autora, este libro en particular no es recomendable para quien ha leído todos o muchos de sus títulos anteriores. Para quienes no son tan fanáticos de ella, leer extractos de sus historias puede resultar como una invitación a leer sus obras completas. less
