review 1: every dress has a history and so does phoebe she gives up her career at sotheby's to open a vintage clothing boutique. along the way she makes many friends who in turn make friends with their dresses - do fairytale dresses bring fairytale endings? the most moving relationship is between her and mrs bell who she first meets when she has clothing she wishes to sell. it is soon clear that their lives r all too similar ....ok, the co-incidences r perhaps a bit far fetched but u will still feel good at the end! great characters who will stay with u bev
review 2: Lovely novel about a woman who opens a vintage clothing store in an attempt at a new start after her best friend dies tragically. The stories behind the clothes and the attention to fashion detail is captiva... moreting. Great mix of fashion, and stories about love and loss and growth. Phoebe, the owner, is written with a vision as a beautiful smart troubled soul. As a reader we become invested in her story. Though it has a little but of a too near fairy tale ending, this was still a one sitting read for me. less
