review 1: This novella is book number 9.5 in the Allison Reynolds series by J.A. Jance - 4 stars. Ali and her fiancé B. Simpson -- and their family and friends -- are in Las Vegas for Ali and B's wedding when Ali's grandkids bring home a stray dog. The rest of the story involves Ali working to find the dog's owner before the wedding so she and B can go on their honeymoon. Very well done - this might be a story length best suited to Jance's skills.
review 2: Let me first begin with I am a huge fan of JA Jance. With that said, this is one book that would have been better tied into a full novel. Each year at this time I wait for the next Ali Reynold's book to be released. And the writing was good but the short story was sort of a let down. The entire wedding scene was
... morewritten in about two pages. And to introduce a new character in a short story might have been the highlight of this short story? I had a chance to meet Jance at a local book signing a few years back and I know she was working on the next Ali book. I wonder what happened to it? On the other hand if you follow this series then you will need to read this installment. If not you will open the next book and find Ali and B. in another light. less
