review 1: I loved this book. It was even better than the first.Rhia was so much more in this one. She has really grown from the girl she was at the beginning of the series.I didn't like the way Disco managed the situation between the two of them. He was 100+ years old, he could have been more mature about things. But hey, he's still a man, he can't help it, right?Although I like Paine very much I don't love him the way I love Disco. I don't know why, since he's awesome. He deserves someone that loves him and only him, and I don't think Rhia is that person unfortunately. Through all the shit Disco's put her I think she still loves him.I can't wait to read the third book ad then I'll wait till next year for the fourth book.
review 2: What an insane book. Saare is a madwom
... morean. She is certifiable. Renfield Syndrome never let up. I was stunned, horrified, amazed and dismayed. The darkness, excitement and danger were like a punch to the gut. Reminded me of how I felt when I encountered Anita Blake. And the endless twists and turns, the multiple stories and paths make me think of Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark. Saare's writing is so plain, with no fancy turns of phrase or high points of humor, it would be easy to dismiss her as an also-ran. But the story she tells is out of this world. And a really cool bit: you should read this just for her twist on the "Fated Mate" trope. What would happen if the fated one was completely uninterested? No one goes there for main characters. This is just a small thread of this tale but it's stuck in my head like glue. Absolutely wonderful book. I'm a serious fan now. Too bad there's only 1 more of these! Guess I'll just have to go read all her other books. Thanks JA! This was quite a trip. I haven't been this excited about a new (to me) author in some time. less
