review 1: Ok I have read Jaci burtons book Hope Smolders and damn loved it Jane a divcored with 2 children bumps into highway patrol guy Will. And wow it was hot go read follow there story you wont be disappointed.Ok so far i have read Erin McCarthy's book in this novella Ice Princess and i found it a fun read. I give it a 5 it's Hot defenitley hot Chelsea is at a ski resort for the weekend with her friends she feels like a fifth wheel. she is a little clumsy at times, and that is how She meets or shall i say is rescued in a way by Brody. So go read and have some fun with them.
review 2: (Oct) It's been a while since I read a contemporary anthology, and this one was just a lot of fun! 3 of the 4 stories are parts of series - none of which I've read or even heard of - but
... more they all read fine as stand alone stories.Hope Smolders (3.5) - Jaci Burton: This is part of the Hope series. Never been a huge Jaci Burton fan, having only read a few of her motorcycle books and maybe one or two short stories. Jane is divorced and working more than one job to keep a roof over her and her kids' heads. She meets her ex's former bff, sparks fly, and after a few angsty moments, love blossoms.Perfect Stranger (4) - Carly Phillips: Been a long while since I read a CP book. I used to like her but somehow she just fell off my radar. Here we find single Dr. Alexa who meets pro football player Luke (complaint - when they meet he tells her he's friends w/a local guy who is a pro football player - and later she thinks about Luke being a pro - but there is never a part where he actually tells her he plays pro ball!). Some dirty dancing, a torrid one night stand that leaads to more, issues w/her dad...this had a good rhythm to it, not too rushed, and did not end w/ILY or even a HEA - it was more "hey, we are good together, let's see where life leads us" - realistic. Might have to check out Serindipity books!Legend of Jane (2.5) - Jessica Clare: Never heard of this author or her series of which this is a part. I didn't like Luanne and felt Hank deserved better. She came across as dumb and kind of a loser - ok, so your career had a glitch - the only thing you can think of to do, at your age, is be a blogger who does crazy stunts. Blech.Ice Princess (4.5) - Erin McCarthy: My favorite of the 4 (although book called Hot Summer Nights - and this took place in the snow in winter!). Chelsea was a lot of fun, klutzy (loved her ski lesson!) and sarcastic, while Brody was sweet and charming and all kinds of hot. Their story was also not too rushed, but did end w/a completely believable HEA. EM is an author I used to follow consistantly, but again, it's been a while. I think I might have to go back and catch up on her books! less
